Hi, everyone, I am Tanmoy Banerjee, pursuing MBA from Bengal Institute of Business Studies (BIBS). I am in the final year of my post graduation and we have been exposed to lot of corporate sessions in the past one and half years. In fact we have a program, called Corporate@Campus which happens every Saturday at our BIBS campus where we get the opportunity to interact with who’s who of the corporate world, understand the nuances of the work life and get an opportunity of mentorship whenever required.

It is really very difficult to identify some favourite sessions as we have listened to so many people, still I am trying to focus on some of the sessions which I have liked in recent times.

The session with Mr. Abhijit Mitra, Head – HR, Ernst & Young was really an eye opener for me. He conducted personality test, Johari – Window test etc. he coached us about understanding eye-movements, mindset of persons. He gave insights about interviews and he did evaluation of every student present in the session. All in all, he is a man of honor.

The session of Mr. Jyotirmoy Bhattacharya, Zonal Head – HR, Mahindra Finance was directed towards understanding the present market and emerging channels of business. He spoke about bottom of pyramid and necessity of catering to the needs of every person, by introducing variants of products and implementing proper strategies. His session was really valuable.

Mr. Abhinandan Dhoke, Regional Sales Manager, Britannia Industries’ session was quite different in terms of the presentation. It was totally a question and answer based session where he handled all the questions addressed to him with lots of perseverance and patience. He also spoke about his tenure in Britannia and his experience in the initial years of his career. His session gave deep insight and knowledge about sales and operations in Britannia. An extremely good session for a fresh graduate who wants to pursue his career in FMCG industry.

Mr. Gopal Pal Chowdhury, Zonal Manager – East, MTR dwelled on strategic management. His session was about distribution systems and channels, key result areas and key performance indicators of sales and various intricate details related to margin of distributions. He shared a lot of details with us and gave us a platform to share out thoughts with him.

The last but not the least was the session with Mr. Anupam Khetan, Regional Manager – East, Samsung India. He made us aware about the challenges faced by new entrants in the corporate world, work culture, career growth in FMCD Industry, role of distribution channels, operation of sales etc. His session was really enriching as it was based on practical understanding.

All the sessions were really enthralling and lot of learning from each and every one.
