Mr. Anupam Khaitan, Regional Manager – East, Samsung India is a young and dynamic professional with an immense knowledge. Presently he is in charge of the entire East heading the IT Sales & Marketing division. He is with Samsung for the past 10 years, which is a rare scenario in these days when professionals switch jobs quite often. He has completed his Master’s degree from Seoul University, Korea.

He started the session by making us understand about the corporate world and how it functions. He took the example of Samsung and explained us the different hierarchies by which it operates.

The he took us through the fascinating journey for a professional in FMCD Industry:

  • Fresher’s challenge in an organization.
  • Work culture & Career growth for FMCD Sector
  • Difference between Indian market and Global Market
  • Roles of distribution channels, operations, sales managers and team members,
  • Managing daily and weekly sales reports, creating presentations at different levels etc.

He dwelled upon two important aspects of an organization, i.e. corporate culture and local culture in prospective of the International market scenario and Indian market scenario. He also spoke about the dirty corporate politics which was quite intriguing and explained how to cope up with it. As a tips to the fresher he mentioned, “One should know the exact requirements of the organization and individual is in to move to the next layer.” He also emphasized that adaptability is the biggest challenge for a newcomer or a fresher in the Industry.

Overall it was a huge learning experience and the students also had a clear understanding and practical knowledge about the FMCD Industry. Looking forward to have more sessions with Mr. Khaitan.
