Mr. Ramesh Siddavatam, Manager – HR Royal Bank of Scotland addressed students

Mr. Siddavatam, Manager – HR, Royal Bank of Scotland visited the campus today to address us. He has completed his MBA from PSG Tech, Coimbatore, one of the most renowned colleges in India and has more than 10 years of experience in HR in companies like Convergys and Accenture, before moving to the banking industry. He is with RBS for the last 5 years.
His started the session by suggesting us that we should identify our passion and goal before choosing career. For example he mentioned that while opting for a specialization like marketing or hr, one should really think whether they like the subject or not, and should not choose for mere degree purpose.
He defined talent as a multiplier of competency, commitment and contribute (3Cs), which was quite unique. He also asked us to write down ten questions on management education and submit to him, which he would get back on a later date. The whole exercise was quite innovative. He also focused on being selective, controlling the temperament and being patient.
He also spoke about various aspects of the banking industry and in particular about RBS where he is associated with. It was a learning experience for all of us who were present during his session.
