TOTAL an international energy group, headquartered in France, has carved a niche for themselves as global leaders in the oil and gas industry. To meet the challenge of the ever escalating demand for oil as the prime source of energy it operates on land, sea and ice in over 130 countries. Together with its subsidiaries and affiliates, Total is the fifth largest publicly-traded integrated international oil and gas company in the world. This multinational energy corporation, overwhelmed with the ‘industry ready’ attitude of the students from the Class of 2011 (MBA), visited the campus on February 22, 2011 to rope in the young talents. The initial interview was with the Senior Area Sales Manager, Mr. Ranjan Sarkar. In the second round they were grilled by the VP, marketing & sales

eastern region, Mr. Arvind Kapur. Furthermore, the contenders were asked to make a presentation which would enable the recruiters understand their competencies and absorb them for the right job.

Partha Pratim Das and Saurav Saroj Das cleared several rounds of nerve cracking interviews & Presentations by the top management to be finally selected for the coveted openings. After the interview Partha quotes, “It feels good because automobile industry is growing and has a great contribution in our GDP. The lubricant industry is directly linked with the ups and downs of automobile industry so the opportunity for growth is there. Secondly, the company will provide a one year training which will be a huge scope for learning, especially for a fresher.”
